We are proud to have served Sinton ISD for the past seven years, assisting them with a variety of roofing projects. From the roof replacements at the Sinton ISD High School and Administration Building to our recent work at Sinton ISD Elementary, we have consistently worked to ensure the long-term durability and safety of their roofs. Project Overview: Sinton ISD Elementary School 2023 Roof Replacement
The Sinton ISD Elementary School 2023 Roof Replacement project represents a critical step in ensuring the integrity and functionality of the district’s facilities. The project involves the full replacement of the existing Built-Up Roof (BUR) system across a 41,739-square-foot roof area.
The project officially broke ground with an extensive assessment phase, which included infrared (IR) moisture scanning of the roof, revealing areas of water entry and wet insulation. This early diagnosis allowed Amtech to proactively plan for emergency repairs, removing wet insulation and addressing active leaks before proceeding with the complete roof replacement. This step not only helped mitigate immediate damage but also optimized long-term cost efficiency.
Phases of the Project
The Sinton ISD Elementary School Roof Replacement project was divided into several phases to ensure careful planning and meticulous execution:
- Design Phase (December 2023 – March 2024): During this phase, Amtech Solutions conducted a thorough site assessment, gathered design inputs, and developed construction documents, including drawings and specifications for the roof replacement. This phase is crucial for laying the groundwork for the entire project, ensuring that all details are addressed from the start.
- Bid Phase (March 2024): Once the construction documents were completed, Amtech facilitated the bidding process by inviting qualified contractors, hosting a site walk, and distributing the necessary information to ensure a competitive and transparent process. This phase also included issuing addendums, if necessary, and assisting with bid openings and evaluations.
- Contract Phase (March 2024): This phase allowed finalizing the contract, issuing bonds, and preparing for construction. With everything in place, we ensured a smooth transition into the construction phase.
- Construction Phase (April 2024 – October 2024): Work officially began in April, with the bulk of the roof replacement completed by June. The project reached completion in October 2024, ensuring that the Sinton ISD Elementary School could operate without significant disruptions during the school year.
