Fort Logan Campus Roof Replacement
This was a project consisting of four buildings covering 60,000 SF of roof area and 600’ of covered walkway on the CMHIFL Fort Logan Campus. Amtech completed the roof consulting and structural engineering improvements. Amtech recommended raising the existing steel frame supporting two large HVAC units on the roof of the gym to be able to properly insulate and flash the new roof system below. All layers of existing roofing were removed down to the roof deck with the installation of a new self-adhered vapor retarder, R-30 insulation and a cover board set in low-rise foam adhesive, and a fully adhered black 60-mil EPDM membrane. To account for the height of the new tapered roof system and allow for ease of future roofing, new prefabricated wood framed knee walls were installed along the building perimeter.
