Randy Worcester is one of Amtech’s most experienced project managers and technical roofing experts. His responsibilities include technical design and specification writing, peer review, overseeing non-destructive and destructive testing procedures, and overseeing building envelope assessments and forensic analysis efforts.
Randy has dedicated his entire career to roofing, having given almost 35 years to the industry. In a variety of estimating, design, and management roles, Randy spent 26 years with the Jayhawk Roofing Company, a family-owned roof construction company based in central Kansas. His journey started around the age of 9, when he spent summers working with his father and grandfather in the company’s sheet metal shop. From there, Randy progressed to the yard, then to the roof, as he served his apprenticeship and learned the art of roofing through hands-on experience and training. After receiving his B.A. in Political Science from Marquette University in 1983, Randy returned to Jayhawk to begin a career in commercial roof construction as an estimator and salesman. Regularly observing, inspecting, or working at company jobsites, Randy learned to manage roofing projects through all phases of construction, eventually leading to him taking over as company President in 2005. In 2010, Jayhawk was sold to the Wray Roofing Company, with whom Randy spent 5 years as a senior estimator and project manager, before branching out and forming his own roof consulting firm in 2015. In 2017 Randy relocated to Texas to take a project management position with Amtech. Randy is a member of RCI, Inc. (formerly known as the Roof Consultants Institute), and is certified as both a Registered Roof Observer (RRO) and as a Registered Roof Consultant (RRC).
