Bob Alford is a founding Principal of Amtech, having formed the company in 1982, and currently serves as the Vice-President of Building Sciences. Bob is based in Amtech’s Houston office, and in addition to providing technical design, specification, review, and oversight, he also leads Amtech’s business development and client relation efforts throughout the country.
A former Sargent in the United States Air Force, Bob went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Science Industrial Management from the Lawrence Technical University in Southfield, Michigan. Since graduating, he has acquired over 35 years of professional consulting experience in the assessment, testing, design, and specification of roofing and waterproofing systems. Bob manages a large clientele including a variety of public and private schools and universities, local and state government entities, and industrial and commercial property owners. Bob has been instrumental in the development and expansion of RCI, Inc. (formerly known as the Roof Consultants Institute) since its inception in 1983, and he is also a member of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA), the Council of Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI), the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), and the Texas Association of Physical Plant Administrators (TAPPA).
